I have only just come to know about John's death. I worked with him for some years as asocial worker at CCO. He was one of the most compassionate doctors I had the privilege to work with. Please accept my late consolations. Neil Mcdonald

A tribute to an amazing man

I was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 and as you will imagine the immediate result of that diagnosis to an ordinary person like myself layman was totally negative, However I was extremely lucky to be put under the care of John Littler who very quickly dispelled my total negativity and instilled in me a belief that there was indeed light at the end of the tunnel. Over a period of eight years John Littler became a major influence in my life, constantly reassuring me when I was maybe at a low ebb and overseeing the treatment which in July of this year saw me discharged from the out patients department at Clatterbridge. What should have been one of the happiest days of my life turned into immense sadness when I learned that John had been stricken with the medical condition he had helped so many hundreds, possibly thousands of people overcome over the decades he devoted to their care. His death is a massive loss not only to the medical profession but to humanity as a whole and to say he will be sadly missed is a massive understatement God Bless John Littler and Thank You from John Kearney
